Gorka Lays Out the Objectives of Trump’s Foreign Trip
Monday President Trump arrived in Israel to kick-off the second leg of his first foreign trip as commander-in-chief. On “Fox & Friends” this morning, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to the president, explained the three objectives of Trump’s much-anticipated visit to the Middle East.
He said the number one aim is to reassert American leadership in the region.
“You saw that yesterday. We didn’t pull any punches in Riyadh with the president’s speech about how the threat of terrorism, the solution to it, begins in the Middle East,” Gorka said.
Secondly, Gorka said, they will rebuild the friendships in the Middle East that were broken over the course of the Obama administration.
Lastly, he said they will redouble their commitment to backing up their words and actually destroying terrorist groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda.
As for Trump’s stated goal of establishing peace between Israelis and Palestinians, Gorka said Trump is a master deal-maker, and if anyone can do it he can.
“If any president in the last 40 years can bring peace to this troubled part of the world, it is President Donald J. Trump,” Gorka said.
