And now more word of the bizarre. It’s not enough that Medicaid is broke, but now in New York, there’s a state panel that is urging Gov Danrew Cuomo to allow taxpayers to foot the bill for transgender residents to get “sexual reassignment surgery,” allowing them to change their physical characteristics from a man to a woman or woman to man.
“Provide Medicaid coverage for transgender surgery/hormone replacement therapy and treatment,” read the proposal submitted by the state’s health disparities work group. Fox News
The panel is submitting recommendations to Cuomo’s Medicaid Redesign Team for possible inclusion in the governor’s budget plan. A state Health Department spokesman has confirmed that they are requiring Medicaid to pay for gender reassignment surgery. Jeff Gordon of the department says Medicaid doesn’t cover the surgery. The issue is under review by the Medicaid Redesign Team.
This proposal comes just months after Gov Cuomo won national attention for steering a gay-marriage law through the state legislature — came under fire from the political right. Meanwhile state Conservative Party chairman Mike Long says this is an absurd misuse of taxpayer dollars. Long insisted sex-change procedures are cosmetic and encourage permissiveness. So now taxpayers most likely will be forced to pay their hard earned money for those morons.

/ 09/30/2011I’m new to blogging, but I think I like it. We taxpayers have been pulled around by the “nose ring” for so long that “private interest groups” have capitalized on our weariness. This article reminds me of a Dr. Seuss movie I saw about “belly buttons”. hmm, “inner or outie?” “Gender Reassignment Surgery” covered by Medicaid would only make sense if a child was born with the anomaly of having both sex organs. Not for some “grown man are woman who wants surgery so they can dress in “Drag” I’m quite sure that Medicaid is still paying for injuries n surgeries from the “9/11″ bombing. Why should a “Medicaid Redesign Team” have to review this request? “Gender Reassignment Surgery” is a luxury expense!!! Stop the madness! We can’t afford it! Don’t be so selfish n greedy. Hey I’d like a bigger “p>^1S”, can the “Medicaid Redesign Team” consider paying for that!!!!!

/ 09/30/2011I find this absolutely ridiculous and to be an incredible abuse of tax payer trust. America has no business paying for elective surgery.
Good blog of it. I blogged about this topic too!
