You have to love these celebrities, and the antics they come up with, lol…it seems singer and guitarist Willie Nelson canceled a North Carolina concert because of a bum hand about an hour after several band and crew members were busted for allegedly possessing moonshine and marijuana.
The ALE (Alcohol Law Enforcement) said Friday that six members of Nelson’s band and crew have been charged with misdemeanor possession offenses. They were issued citations before the Texas singer was scheduled to take the stage Thursday night.
Willie Nelson bass player Dan Edward “Bee” Spears, 60, Franklin, Tenn., and five others were charged with possession of non-tax-paid alcohol, Seneca said. Two of the six were also charged with marijuana possession. The charges came after officers smelled marijuana aboard a tour bus and were given permission to search it.
Nelson publicist Elaine Schock did not immediately reply to a telephone message and an e-mail seeking comment. Nelson’s daughter said on the musician’s Web site that Thursday night’s show at the Duplin County Events Center in Kenansville was canceled because his hand hurt too badly to play. The right-handed guitar-picker had carpal tunnel surgery on his left hand in 2004. His daughter said he would try to finish the tour with two more dates, then return home to Texas for 10 days.

/ 02/02/2010Willie Nelson is one of the coolest guys ever, Ive personally met him. And to all you people that bad mouth him are fools. He has never harmed anyone and has done nothing but entertain millions of people. Not to mention marijuana is ABSOLUTELY HARMLESS and is proven to be harmless, if you don’t know this, you’ve either not done the proper research and believe the lies you’re told, or have never smoked it, so YOU need to grow up. The fact that the country still allows this prohibition of marijuana only makes it EASIER for your children to get it! It needs to be legalized and regulated like alcohol. A kid can get marijuana MUCH easier than a 6 pack of beer. Millions of people smoke and will continue to weather it’s legal or not so we need to stop HANDING THIS BILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS TO THE DRUG CARTEL IN MEXICO.

It is by far, better than alcohol but since the government is a bunch of controlling bastards and decided to outlaw the HERB in the 1930′s, people now think that it is some sort of terrible drug. Grow up and look around! If we legalize marijuana our jails wont be overflowing with dumb posesion charges and we could actually afford to put the real criminals, like rapists, murderers, sex offenders and other low life criminals. Now, I’m a 20 year old full time college student and have two part time jobs and i inhale marijuana on a daily basis! Some call me a hippie, but honestly im living my life how i want and no government is going to stop me! so just cause somebody smokes a lil grass or drinks doesnt mean there a low life!
